God of Marsh Marigolds

God of Marsh Marigolds,

Stun us again with the yellow of spring,
the spread of an eagle’s wing,
and the tenacity of your good green life.

Crown us with dandelion wreaths and song,
woven threefold strong,
which in the morning your breath revives.

Hush us holy with the thrum of bee,
and the cherry tree
full-blossomed with the nectar that you bring.

  1. Your words are so bright … so rich in hope and full of light. They are a delight to the soul.
THANK YOU for sharing them, friend!

    1. I’m happy the words brought delight! There’s so much wonder in the world and it seems almost impossible to squeeze just a little of that out in words – but I try!

  2. Oh Lindsey, refreshing to my soul this morning! And I’m appreciating the context! Breathing in your walk to the water’s edge as look down at the glory at your feet . Immersed with you in the kayak as you raise your eyes to the skies to the sight of eagles wings!

  3. Oh, that’s lovely, Lindsey! I felt the holiness of each sign of spring you mentioned, and then you brought the word “holy” into the poem in the last verse. We enjoy numerous holy sights as winter transitions to spring. Thank you for drawing a few of them to our attention–with the holy hush of worship our Creator God deserves.
